About Us
What is LADRA?
Las Animas Dog Rescue Association (LADRA – which also means “bark” in Spanish) was formed by us, Brischa and Ted Borchgrevink, in 2012 to rescue dogs in the Puerto Vallarta area. LADRA operates with the aid of donations, volunteers, and friend organizations.
Together with our Doberman, we moved to Puerto Vallarta from Norway in 2004. Shortly after our arrival we rescued our first dog, Tobias, who was abandoned on a roof and had been covered with hot oil.
In the years since, we have been helping hands in the rescues and adoptions of countless dogs.
We are working very closely together with MexPup, another non-profit organisation in Puerto Vallarta, that helps find furever homes mainly at the West Coast of Canada and the United States. In addition, PEACE Animals and the Colina free Spay & Neuter Clinic lay very close to our heart.
“Las Animas” in Spanish means “spirits.”

You can’t adopt but are looking for a way to help? Show your love with a donation that helps keeping this project alive. With only 10 Dollars, for example, we can feed a dog for a whole month.
