Estrella
Estrella has lost the use of her two back legs. Initially she contracted a tick-borne disease called Ehrlichia which attacked her rear legs, after being treated for Ehrlichia she was in a facility which put her into a crate which was too small, where she stayed for a few months without being taken out, causing all her remaining muscles to atrophy. Friends of ours learned about Estrella and asked us to help. X-Rays that we have had taken show nothing technically wrong with her actual bones, and we do daily physiotherapy with Estrella to build back up her muscle tone, but our vets suspect her tendons have snapped and we are unsure whether Estrella will ever walk 'properly' again. She has a wheelchair but seems to prefer scooting around on the floor (we use socks and booties so the top of her feet don't get scraped up). This aside - Estrella is the happiest dog ever! She's extremely affectionate, loves toys, loves playing with our other dogs, loves car rides, loves the beach, loves peanut butter (!!!) and generally seems to have absolutely no idea she is any different to other dogs.
